A familiar problem

When Your Cable Is the Source of Error

Your VNA is calibrated. Your fixturing is solid. But every time the cable flexes, phase shifts — and your measurement drifts. You recal. You re-route. You compensate in software. The cable is costing you hours of confidence you should never have lost.

Lab Testing

You need repeatable S-parameter data across a full temperature sweep. A standard cable introduces enough phase variation to blur the result — leaving you unsure whether you're measuring the DUT or the cable.

ATE Rack

Cables are routed, flexed, and flexed again with every device swap. By the end of the day, phase drift has accumulated across the system. Were those early readings still valid?

mmWave Development

You're characterizing a 110 GHz component. At those frequencies, even marginal phase instability turns a clean measurement into an ambiguous result. Margin for error is zero.

The solution

The Cable Engineered for One Job — Accuracy.

The Junkosha EMF 0 Series was built around a single requirement: phase stability. Not as an afterthought — as the design brief. The result is a cable that stays in spec when it bends, and stays in spec when it heats up.

  • Superior Phase Stability Under Bending
Thin, flexible fluoropolymer construction minimizes mechanical stress. Bend it, route it, flex it — your measurement stays where you left it.
  • Seven Variants, One Ecosystem (26.5 – 145 GHz)
MWX021 through MWX004 share the same 50 Ω design philosophy. Scale from microwave to millimeter-wave without switching cable families.
  • Designed for VNA Port Cables
Velocity of propagation 74–79 %, VSWR as low as 1.33, propagation delay 3.6–4.5 ns/m — spec'd for the connection that matters most: port to DUT.
  • Proven Operating Range: –30 to +85 °C
Climate-controlled lab or environmental cycling — the 0 Series performs within spec across the full operating envelope.
  • RoHS Compliant — Every Variant
No exceptions, no workarounds. All seven variants ship fully compliant, ready for export and integration into any certified system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to specify and order the right cable.

What makes the 0 Series different from standard microwave cables?
Standard cables prioritize flexibility or low loss. The 0 Series was designed from the ground up around phase stability under bend and temperature — the defining requirement for accurate VNA measurements. The result is consistent, repeatable S-parameter data even after repeated cable flexing.
Which connector types are available?
Connector options depend on the frequency variant: 3.5 mm / SMA (MWX021), 2.4 mm or 2.92 mm (MWX051), 1.85 mm (MWX061/071), 1.0 mm Safety-Lock (MWX001/002), and 0.8 mm Safety-Lock (MWX004). Contact us to confirm the right interface for your VNA.
Are custom lengths available?
Yes. Standard lengths range from 100 mm (110 GHz+) up to 1,500 mm (26.5–70 GHz). Non-standard lengths are available — mention your requirement when requesting a quote. Assembly length tolerance is ±10 mm for lengths up to 1,000 mm.
Can I order matched-phase cable pairs?
Matched-phase options are available on select variants, critical for multi-port VNA setups and differential signal testing. Specify this requirement in your quote request.
How quickly can I receive the cables in Israel?
Koto Electronics holds Israeli inventory of Junkosha products. Standard variants ship in approximately 11 business days; mmWave variants (110 GHz and above) in approximately 15 business days. Contact us for current stock levels.
How do I choose between variants — larger or smaller OD?
The rule is simple: larger outer diameter = lower insertion loss and higher power rating. Smaller outer diameter = higher frequency capability and greater flexibility. All variants share identical 50 Ω impedance, so the choice is purely about your frequency and loss requirements.
