The Last Step in Catheter Assembly Shouldn't Risk the Whole Build.
Skiving traditional FEP heat shrink tubing takes time — and when the blade slips, it takes the catheter with it. Junkosha Peelable HST removes with a single slit. No skiving. No damage risk. Full bonding performance preserved. Available in Israel through Koto Electronics.

Skiving Is the Most Expensive Step That Doesn't Appear on the BOM
Standard FEP heat shrink tubing performs its process function — then requires a blade to remove it. On structures measured in fractions of a millimetre, that blade is a yield risk at the end of a build that may have taken hours.
Yield Loss at the Final Step
When the skiving blade contacts the catheter shaft, bond site, or tip, the damage typically scraps the assembly — not just the tubing. The cost is not in the heat shrink material. It is in the hours of work it covered.
Cycle Time That Compounds at Volume
Skiving is slow and operator-dependent. On thin-wall or small-diameter catheters, it demands careful tool control and individual inspection after every removal. As volume increases, the time and risk accumulate proportionally.
Ergonomic Risk That Scales with Demand
Skiving is a repetitive precision task performed under magnification. Operator fatigue degrades consistency across shifts. It is not a training problem — it is a process-design problem that standard heat shrink tubing makes unavoidable.
One Slit. Full Length. No Blade Near the Catheter.
Junkosha designed Peelable HST around the removal step. A single longitudinal slit at one end initiates the peel. The tubing then separates cleanly along its entire length — no tools, no blade contact with the catheter surface, no unpredictable resistance. Bonding performance is identical to standard FEP HST.
- ✓Skiving damage eliminated, not managedThe failure mode is removed from the process. Because the tool never contacts the catheter during removal, the inspection burden at the removal step goes from variable to predictable.
- ✓Same bonding and shrink performanceTip forming, balloon bonding, Pt. marker, G.W. port bonding, tube bonding, and catheter lamination — all processes perform identically to standard FEP HST. The change is in the removal, not the process.
- ✓USP Plastic Class VI — certificates availableBiocompatibility is certified to USP Plastic Class VI requirements. Compatible with EtO and Steam sterilization. Certificates on request — no qualification ambiguity.
- ✓Six families, 0.9 Fr to 34.3 FrFrom ultra-small guidewire coils (NFPM, 0.38 mm expanded) through TAVI and large-bore sheath applications (NFP, 11.43 mm expanded). One supplier for the entire catheter OD range your process requires.
- ✓Industry's first — and still the benchmarkJunkosha invented peelable FEP heat shrink tubing. The product is protected by patents in the US, EU, Japan, and China across multiple generations. It is not a commodity adaptation — it is the original.
